Personal Introduction
In this brief video, Andreas Rossen introduces himself, his commercial background in dry bulk chartering and freight trading, and the ways he can support shipowners, operators, commodity companies and investors.
Hello, my name is Andreas Rossen.
I am a commercial shipping professional with more than twenty years of international experience in dry bulk chartering, freight trading and business development.
Throughout my career I have traded freight across the Handysize, Supramax, Ultramax and Panamax segments, built long-term customer relationships and helped establish and develop new commercial shipping organisations.
My approach is built on three things: experience, professionalism and flexibility. Experience, because I have worked across international dry bulk markets through very different market cycles. Professionalism, because trust, transparency and reliable execution are what keep customers and counterparties coming back. And flexibility, because every organisation is different, and commercial support has to fit the business it serves.
Underpinning all of it is integrity. In this industry your word is your contract, and a reputation for being trustworthy is built over years and lost in a moment. I hold myself to high professional standards, I am straightforward in how I communicate, and I do what I say I will do — whether I am negotiating freight, representing an owner in the market or advising on a commercial decision.
Today I am available for permanent, interim, advisory and project-based assignments. That could be joining an established shipping organisation, supporting freight trading and chartering activity, developing customers and cargo, entering a new market or helping establish a new commercial office.
If you are a shipowner, operator, commodity company or investor looking for experienced commercial capacity, I would be glad to talk.

Market Insight
Freight markets move faster today: decision windows are shorter and geopolitics can reroute cargo flows overnight. In this video, Andreas Rossen explains how he uses AI to work through market data, research counterparties and sanity-check assumptions — and why performance risk, negotiation and vessel selection still come down to experience, relationships and commercial judgement.
I am Andreas Rossen. I have traded dry bulk freight for more than twenty years, and I have seen a lot of different markets.
But one thing is clear: freight markets move faster today. Decision windows are shorter, sentiment changes quickly, and geopolitics can reroute cargo flows almost overnight. That creates risk, but also opportunity.
This is where I increasingly use AI. Not to replace experience, but as one more input alongside everything else on my desk.
I use AI to work through market data faster, to research counterparties and cargo flows, to synthesise reports and to sanity-check assumptions before I commit.
But what AI cannot tell me is whether this owner will perform, whether the charterer is bluffing on the last five hundred dollars, or whether to take the cargo now and utilise for our own fleet, or go out and find the best suitable ship in the market, or simply hold for a better position tomorrow. That still comes from experience, relationships and judgement.
And that combination is what I bring: more than twenty years in dry bulk freight, strong relationships across the market, commercial judgement and a genuine drive and passion for this business.
That energy is what gets me to the desk early, keeps me learning and keeps me pushing for the right answer when the market is moving against you.
I am currently available for permanent, interim, advisory and project-based opportunities in commercial shipping. If you see a potential fit, I would be happy to talk. You can find my full contact details at andreasrossen.com. Thank you for watching.
